Under the SafeSchool Vehicle Scheme, a seminar was organized at Sacred Heart Convent Public School under the leadership of DTO Gurcharan Singh Sandhu.
On this occasion, Transport Officer Sandhu said that the main objective of this seminar is to implement the Safe Vehicle Scheme in schools. The management committees of those schools, instructed the parents of the students and owners of school vehicles, drivers and their assistants to transport the school students in safe vehicles in the schools. He said that apart from the district level, committees have been formed at the block level under the safe vehicle policy in schools. These committees are checking school vehicles in schools. These committees are making sure that the vehicles coming and going to and from students in schools meet the criteria of the School Safety Vehicle Policy. He strictly instructed the school leaders that school vans should meet the criteria of Punjab Safe School Vehicle Scheme. Along with this, he said that vehicles from any other state should also be used in schools to take students to school and home.
