The salary of a KVS teacher will become quite attractive after the 7th Pay Commission and it includes many additional benefits and perks.  Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was registered as a society on 15 December 1965 under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860).  The primary objective of this organization is to establish, maintain, maintain, control and manage Kendriya Vidyalayas all over India and abroad.  The Government of India fully finances the organization, running around 1190 Kendriya Vidyalayas including three out of the country, five regional education and training institute areas and 25 regional offices spread across the country.

 On this, trained primary teachers will be given a grade pay of Rs 2000, while trained primary teachers (graduate grades), trained secondary and librarians will be given a grade pay of Rs 2400.  At the same time, higher secondary teachers will get a grade pay of Rs 2800.  Unskilled teachers will get the pay scale, but not the grade pay.  Such teachers will get grade pay if trained.


 However, all categories of employed teachers (trained and untrained) and librarians will get grade pay only after completion of two years of appointment.  For the service already done, an annual increment will be made at the rate of three percent for every three years of service.  The teachers and librarians of untrained and trained primary, secondary, higher secondary schools will be paid dearness allowance, medical allowance, house rent allowance and annual increment declared to the state employees from time to time.  Salary will be payable to employed untrained elementary, secondary and senior secondary teachers during their training period.  The rules will be amended for this.


 Dearness allowance will not be payable

 Salary to untrained primary, secondary, upper secondary teachers will be increased by at least 20 percent with effect from 1st July.  In cases where there will be a low increase of 20 percent, an amount in multiples of 100 will be added to increase it by 20 percent.  This will be considered as personal salary.  However, dearness allowance will not be available on it.  1000 per month as special allowance to teachers of untrained primary (graduate grade), secondary schools and Rs. 1500 as special allowance to teachers of untrained upper secondary schools.  Dearness allowance will not be payable on this also.


 Committee constituted: A committee has been constituted to determine the service conditions, transfer, training, promotions etc. of all categories of employed teachers and librarians.  It has Principal Secretary and Principal Additional Advocate General, Finance, Education, General Administration, City Development, Panchayati Raj Department.  The committee will report in three months.
