UGC NET Eligibility: NTA has established a defined and detailed eligibility criteria for the UGC NET exam.  With the introduction of the National Testing Agency or NTA as the new regulation body of the national level examination, there has been no change in the eligibility standards.  The following article informs the educational qualification, number of attempts, age limit and other such details to register for the national level examination.

 Before filling the UGC NET application form, candidates should check their eligibility.

 The basic standard for applying online is that the candidate must be a Bachelor Degree holder with at least 55% marks.

 He should not be more than 28 years of age on January 1, 2019 to apply for Junior Research Fellowship.

 Up to 5 years relaxation is provided for reserved categories candidates

 PHD.  Degree holders will be given a relaxation of 5% aggregate marks for completion of master's degree before 19 September 1992 for appearing in NTA NGC NET.

UGC NET 2019 Qualification: Educational Qualification

 Such candidates who wish to appear for NET 2019 organized by UGC, they have to meet all the prescribed standards.  Below are the eligibility criteria for NTA UGC NET 2019:

 The candidate must have scored at least 55% aggregate marks in Master's degree (SC / ST, OBC- NCL, PWD) or UGC in Humanities (including languages) and equivalent examination from University in Social Sciences, Computer Science and Applications.  Electronic Science etc. are eligible for UGC NET 2019.

 Those candidates who are currently in the final year of their master's program or who are waiting for their final year results can appear for the UGC NET 2019 exam.

 Such candidates will be admitted provisionally and will be considered eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship or at least 55% aggregate marks only after being eligible for the post of Assistant Professor (OBC (Non-creamy layer) / SC  / 50% for ST) will secure.  / PwD category in master's program).

 Candidates for doing Ph.D.  Degree NET 2019 will be eligible to appear for the examination if they have completed the master's degree by September 19, 1991.  Such candidates will be given 5% relaxation in the total marks.

 Candidates are only eligible to appear in the subject of their post-graduation.  If your post-graduate is not on the subject list, you can opt for the related subject.

 Candidates should not send any certificate or document along with the application form to NTA.

 If the candidate is found ineligible, his / her candidature will be canceled in such event.  Such candidates will be responsible for legal action.

 Candidates belonging to the transgender category will be eligible to give the same relaxation in fee, age and eligibility criteria for NEET (ie JRF and Assistant Professor), which are available for SC / ST / PWD categories.  The subject wise cut-off for this category should be the lowest for SC / ST / PwD / OBC-NCL categories in the same subject.
